Good Bye Everyone ;(

I have learned the need for diversity and a cultural awareness in my early childhood career.  As an educator, it is important to be unbiased as well as connect with the children and families you interact with.  This has truly stayed with me and has helped me to remain open minded both professionally and personally.

I have also learned the importance of remaining non-judgmental.    Prior to this program, I had preconceived beliefs and ideas about different parenting styles that I was unaware of.  This program has helped me to grow both on a personal and professional level.  I have learned to dismember any ideas that are different from my personal culture which has been truly a growing experience.

I have also discovered a new found passion and excitement which is teaching adults.  This new passion has enlightened my thinking of adult trainers.  It has also helped me to advocate and teach others about the things I have learned at Walden.  Through these teaching sessions, I have been able to feel more confident speaking publicly.  I have also met other great educators in the field in which I can swap ideas with.

My long-term goal is to manage my non-profit organization for children and families with low-income in an effort to eradicate the many different needs of low-income families.  I also want to expand my childcare business throughout the state of Maryland an eventually expand into a chain of private schools.  My next long term goal is to teach within the college setting as well as continue teaching privately.  Finally, I plan to always continue learning about different issues and trends within the EC field.  I plan to do this in the short term by continuing on into the Doctorate of Philosophy program.  In the long term through continuing research, attending seminars, and just staying current on the EC field.

Finally, I would like to say farewell to Dr. Ferrari and my colleagues.  It has been a very enlightening and educational experience.  I will never forget all of the people I have come in contact with as well as the feedback given.  I wish everyone continued success.  May God bless each of you in your goals!
